I actually was surprised by how much I did not enjoy this book. I read the first novel when it came out but never got around to the next one until now. I think I was lucky I waited so long because I spared myself. I would have dnf'd this if I had read it when it was released.

I enjoyed the first book in the series. Given, I was twelve or thirteen at that time. In this sequel, the characters lose their charm. The protagonist becomes drastically unlikeable and uninteresting. Her motivations also rapidly fall apart. This plot dwindled and was unnecessarily dragged out. The story could have been wrapped up in a book and a half. The choice of more than two books was just excessive.

I simply just could not care for the characters much anymore.
