“Gods are nothing without fools to believe in them.”

Read after high recommendation from a peer who stated this was her new favorite book. The characters were difficult to sympathize with at times. I found their developments to be stiff and almost uninteresting. However, the book overall deserves high praise, especially for what it had accomplished. I think this is partially due to the amazing audiobook I used alongside this reading, but I was sucked into this world very well. The writing was alluring and fascinating. I think it's worth a read of your own to decide for yourself if you like it.

I'm unsure about whether I will continue this series.

Let's kill the colonizers.

“You crushed us to build your monarchy on the backs of our blood and bone. Your mistake wasn't keeping us alive. it was thinking we'd never fight back”
