The Love of the Last Tycoon by F. Scott Fitzgerald

“There was a midsummer restlessness abroad—early August with imprudent loves and impulsive crimes.”

I appreciate F. Scott Fitzgerald's work a lot, and I think there's something very sad about this novel. It really does feel like what it was: unfinished. The story is simple to follow, but there is a constant tone of bittersweet throughout the book. It's very reminiscent of his work as a whole.
